In the water area of the Yacht club of Saint-Petersburg passed the final competitions of a series of regattas for classic wooden boats “Cup of historical shipbuilding Shipyard “Poltava”.
The competition was attended by St. Petersburg youth team of Atlantic Challenge Russia, the Project “Shtandart”, as well as youth team (under 18) “Marine school” of the Academy of sailing, with more than 50 people.
All in all there were 2 stages: on August 18-19 in the waters near the Peter and Paul fortress in the framework of Baltic yacht week, on 15-16 September at the Yacht club of Saint-Petersburg. In the framework of the regatta, there were 12 different races: sailing, and sailing and rowing races, rowing without a rudder, “the transfer of cargo ashore” and rowing race “2 nautical miles”.
In the second stage between all participants began a tight battle, the teams finished with a difference of 1-4 seconds, resulting in almost at the finish are better than others manifested themselves team captain Gucci Nati, beating their closest rivals – the team of Yala “Standard” – at one point (13 and 14 points, respectively).
According to the results of the entire Series, however, won again, probably the most experienced team in the competition – the team of Yala “Standard” once again became owners of the special Cup. We will remind, the Cup was made by masters of historical shipbuilding Shipyard “Poltava” in 2017 specifically for the Series of regattas classic wooden boats and is a copy of the bow shape of the linear ship “Poltava”.

In July 2018 at the international Atlantic Challenge competition, which took place in Antrim, Northern Ireland, the Russian team has occupied 3-e a place. In 2020 competition for the first time held in Russia, take them to the Yacht club of Saint-Petersburg.
