“Stroganov Mile” -2019
According to the website of the All-Russian Union of Federal Service of Navigation, with reference to kitemile.ru, in Usolye (Perm region) competitions of the championship of Russia on snowkiting in the freestyle discipline and the second stage of the Cup of Russia in the course-flight discipline were held.
The tenth anniversary festival “Stroganov Mile” gathered 80 athletes from different regions of Russia: St. Petersburg, Moscow, Moscow, Chelyabinsk, Samara and Sverdlovsk regions, Perm and Krasnodar regions, the Republic of Udmurtia, Khanty-Mansi and Nenets autonomous districts.
Such a vast geography is easily explained: the Stroganov Mile festival is not only traditional snowkiting competitions held in the Kama River, but also a large-scale cultural, historical and entertainment program. Sports events unfold right in front of one of the most beautiful monuments of architecture of the Perm Territory – the historical museum complex "Chambers of the Stroganovs."
The weather pleased the athletes: there was not just a lot of snow, but a lot. Although the wind is sometimes not enough. The water area of the Kama River in this place is small – just over 1 km wide – and is cut by numerous shallows. Therefore, the distances here are short – there was practically no room for error.
The organizers have completely fulfilled the declared program: the racers had 15 races, the crystallizers had dingle elimination. As a result, the struggle for victory was very hard. The leaders were constantly changing, there were many protests, but it was all the more interesting to watch the performance of the athletes.
As a result, Denis Usov from Lyubertsy near Moscow (board) and Ivan Povodyrev from Surgut (skiing) became the champions of Russia in snowkite-freestyle. The winners of the second stage of the Russian Cup in the course-flight discipline are Stepan Koncha from Chelyabinsk (board) and Ilya Gibadullin from Yekaterinburg (skis).
