Risser and Portorož
The dreams that the three Russian crews who participated in the world championship in the 49erFX class, which ended in Risser (Norway), will complete the regatta among the first ten dreams, have, alas, been dreams.
Only one of our crews got into the top ten: Zoya Novikova and Diana Sabirova finished the championship in 7th place (146 points). Daniil Usachev and Ilya Ganeev (220 points) were eventually 12th, Vasily Andreev and Leonid Pushev (224) – in 14th position.
“They drove off well,” is the opinion of coach Vadim Pushev, led by the press service of the Krestovsky Island sailing school. “Many rivals Zoya Novikova and Diana Sabirova, with whom they previously competed, are now chasing from behind. The girls have become stronger. it turned out, but the seventh place in the world is a high result, especially since they are the youngest of the girls.
After the first days, when the barrel, it was expected that the guys would take places in the top ten. But the wind turned sour, but they, like Zoe, cannot walk well in a weak wind. In the 49er and 49erFX should go through a large knurling. At least six months to feel the boat. And they only spent a month on the water in this class. In the mid-strong wind feel more or less. But the 12th and 14th place is also not bad for the world. In addition, the guys were the youngest in the championship.
The weather, in principle, was excellent: for three days a strong wind was blowing, then – an average and on the final day – weak. The air temperature is comfortable – 19-20 degrees. In Norway, generally a good climate.
Now we will continue to workout. Competitions have once again confirmed that we still have to train and train. At the end of the summer, the boys will change to 49er. "
The gold medals went to the Italians – Alexandra Stalder and Sylvia Speri (70.7), who outstripped the Swedes who had been leading the regatta Wilma Bobek and Malin Tengstrem (74).
Recall that in the Riser also took place the world championship in 49er and Nacra17. New Zealanders Isaac Machardi and William Mackenzie excelled in the first of these disciplines (33 points), far ahead of all their competitors. The only Russian duet Mikhail Ushkov / Kirill Boboshko took the 38th place (166).
Finally, our Nacra17 was not represented at all, and only 9 crews participated in the regatta. However, the primacy of the world is the primacy of the world. Italians Gianluigi Ugolini and Maria Jubilei won (26.6 points).

Another world championship – in class 470 – ended in Portorož (Slovenia).
In discipline 470 (boys / mixed crews), the Italians Giacomo Ferrari / Giulio Calabro brilliantly performed: they finished first 8 times in 11 qualifying and final races. In the medal race, however, they became third, but this could not change anything. Ferrari and Calabro have 23 points, while the runner-up Germans Daniel Gettlich and Linus Clasen have as many as 60!
Our Timofey Grigorin-Ryabov / Alexey Safonov – in 21st place (151 points), Olga Shoykhet / Denis Makarov – in 38th place (139).
In 470 (girls) there were no Russians, only 12 crews participated. The winners of the world championship were the sisters from Germany Louise and Helena Vancer (32 points).
