Princess Sofia Cup: Day Six
The 50th Trofeo Princesa Sofia IBEROSTAR 2019 regatta, which took place in Mallorca, has ended. Before you is the final report of Anton Shibaev, Yacht Russia special correspondent:

This morning, wind gusts in Palma Bay reached 25 knots, and carrots were hoisted on the masts of the club. After two hours of waiting, it was decided not to conduct races in the classes 49er and 49erFX – because of a strong rolling wave near the shore.
However, this was not an obstacle for the boards, and the men in the RS: X class were the first to be released. A short starting line, a quick passage of the distance – and the result was soon known: Vladislav Burmistrenko and Alexander Askerov finished 8th and 9th. In the final protocol, they have the 5th and 6th places respectively. Which, of course, is success.
At this point, to their starting line pulled up the "seventies". The high wave made it difficult to observe the race, but it was clear from the blue spinnaker that the team of Pavel Sozykin and Denis Gribanov were among the leaders. Already after the race was over, we came closer and learned that the guys finished third.
“We had a great race, today we managed to do almost everything,” Denis Gribanov told ashore. “They chose the left side from the start and they didn’t lose! ".
Due to the excellent result in the medal race, Pavel and Denis managed to improve their position: in the final protocol they are in 7th place. A worthy result – and our congratulations!
At this regatta for the Cup of Princess Sofia for Russian yachtsmen ended. But the racing season in Mallorca continues. Within a few days, the European Championship in the class RS: X starts here. We wish good luck to our guys – and we will root for them!
