Princess Sofia Cup: Day One
The first race of the 50th jubilee, 50th Trofeo Princesa Sofia IBEROSTAR 2019 regatta started on Mallorca yesterday, reports the special correspondent of Yacht Russia Anton Shibaev.

Over 1200 yachtsmen began the struggle in ten Olympic classes – 470, 49er, 49erFX, Laser, Laser Radial, Finn, Nacra17 and RS: X. Our country is represented at the regatta 36 athletes.
Despite the fact that licenses for the Olympics are not being played at this regatta, many consider it one of the main events of the season, where you can both see the level of rivals and evaluate the results of your winter training.
The first day was very significant for our team.
Sergey Komissarov got the best result in the Laser class: having won the first race of the day and finished 7th in the second, he took the 4th place in the final protocol. Also in the top ten, Maksim Nikolaev with the 4th and 6th parishes – 8th place.
Pavel Sozykin and Denis Gribanov in the 470 class performed perfectly. In the two races held, our crew took the 7th and 2nd places – and now it occupies the 5th position.
In the Laser Radial class, the girls among the best among ours were Maria Kislukhina and Valeria Lomatchenko – 16th and 18th places. And Valeria won the first race!
Alisa Kirilyuk and Anzhelika Chernyakhovskaya are the 25th and 17th parishes in the top twenty in the women's class 470 class.
The youngest crew in the 49erFX class – Zoya Novikova and Diana Sabirova – still has a chance to get into the golden fleet, however, the girls will have to try to avoid future annoying mistakes. In the first race of the day they reached the top mark by the third, and although they later let the more experienced rivals go ahead, they were able to finish 11th. Good result for newcomers class. However, neither the second nor the third race girls could not hold their position – in the end 48th place.
Other Russian athletes occupy the following places:
470 (men). Christian Czech / Victor Tarasov – 60th place.
Finn. Arkady Kistanov – the 35th, Mikhail Yatsun – the 40th, Vladimir Krutskikh – the 46th, Yuri Polovinkin – the 85th.
Laser. Daniil Krutskikh – the 72nd, Dmitry Bondarenko – the 133rd, Kirill Evfimovsky – the 140th.
Laser Radial: Ekaterina Zyuzina – 53rd, Ekaterina Morgun – 72nd, Ekaterina Bereza – 77th, Ekaterina Guseva – 82nd.
Nacra 17. Maxim Semenov / Alina Schetinkina – 40th place; Sergey Dzhienbayev / Sofia Kiseleva – 49th.
In classes 49er and RS: X, there were no races on Monday.
