On the night of May 18-19, from 6 p.m. to 6 p.m., visitors to the shipyard will be able to board the 54-gun ship of Poltava. The sailboat is participating in the action for the fourth time, but this year will be a special one.

"Poltava" will take part in the action "Night of Museums"

The participants of the “Night of Museums” will have a unique opportunity to spend the first time sunset and meet the sunrise on board the “Poltava”. Previously, visitors to the city’s action saw the ship only in the hangar. Now they will be able to climb on deck, walk along the real sea ladder and transfer to another era, feeling like sailors of the XVIII century.

The theme of “Museum Night” is “Elements.” Guides will tell about the elements of the structure, accessories, design drawings and ship decor. Each guide will focus on his own topic, but also mention the history of "Poltava" and the stages of construction. Museum workers will teach visitors to understand marine terms, knit knots and set sails. At the end of the excursion over the water area of the gulf a shot from the ship’s cannon mounted on the shore will thunder.

On the territory will work 11 guides. The number of groups – 15 people. Duration of the tour is 55 minutes.

The entrance to “Poltava” is carried out on a single ticket “Night of Museums”, which can be bought in advance or on the spot.

Getting to the shipyard is most convenient from the Begovaya metro station. During the "Night of Museums", two buses will run between the metro station and the museum. Passengers will disembark at the corner of Lakhtinsky Avenue and Bobylskaya Street. The interval of movement is 20 minutes.

Do not forget that "Poltava" is located on the territory of the existing shipyard. We recommend to wear warmer clothes and choose comfortable and waterproof shoes with a flat sole.

Oksana Rode, head of the Poltava shipyard excursion center:

– Last year, “Poltava” was visited by 2,200 people. I'm afraid to make plans, but this time we expect even more people, because the ship is already on the water. This is the main feature of the current "Night of Museums". We will show what was built and created over the past five years, the final product. Such a sight cannot be missed!

Linear 54-gun ship of the 4th rank "Poltava" was launched on the day of the city of St. Petersburg on May 27, 2018. The ship "Poltava" is the first battleship of the Baltic Fleet. The ship was named in honor of the victory of Russian troops in the Battle of Poltava. Petrovskaya "Poltava" was built at the Admiralty shipyards, launched in June 1712. Peter I personally participated in the design and construction of the ship. The ship "Poltava" began to recreate in 2013 at the shipyard of historic shipbuilding "Poltava", founded by the St. Petersburg Yacht Club.

After completion of all construction work, the ship will become the center of a large modern interactive museum complex dedicated to the maritime history of Russia.
