Overtook 35 crews!
An almost historic event: in the first race of the very first in the history of the Junior World Championship in the class of "Star", which started in Miami, won the US-Russian crew!

American helmsman Luke Lawrence and Russian clatter Alexei Selivanov took the lead shortly after the start and no longer gave way to anyone. They were ahead of 35 crews, among which were the participants of the November final of the Star Sailors League.
Do not be fooled by the word "junior" in the title of the tournament. Actually, yachtsmen under 30 years old can participate in this championship (Lawrence and Selivanov, it's not a secret, not 18 either). Simply, the International Star Association and the rapidly gaining prestige in the world of Star Sailors League are doing everything possible to popularize the class among yachtsmen of different age categories. So they set up such a strange championship.
Well, we will follow Lawrence and Selivanov – and we wish them not to slow down. And yet – we recall that at the end of last week, Alexey took the 20th place among the masters of the Finn class in the same place, in Miami, at the second stage of the World Cup in the Olympic classes.
