Over 250 riders from 13 countries!
All riders, young and old, are eagerly awaiting the start of the sailing season, in some regions of the world regattas are held all year, somewhere the opportunity to set sail is only May. An excellent gift in the off-season for all young sailors of the Old World will be an international regatta in the Optimist class – OptiOrange Valencia 2019.
The organizers of the children's regatta were two famous yacht clubs, these are the Yacht Club of St. Petersburg (Russia) and the Valencia Real Club Náutico (Spain). Last year, the event was held in test mode for the first time and more than 80 athletes took part in it, this year more than 250 riders from all over the world registered for the international regatta OptiOrange Valencia 2019.
According to the commander of the St. Petersburg Yacht Club, Vladimir Lyubomirov, “the success of the project is promoted, firstly, by the timing of the competition, it is March 7-11, International Women's Day and the famous Valencia Festival“ Fire ”- there is something to do for parents who decide to come with a child at the regatta. A well-thought sports part and a good coastal program, as well as the famous regatta mascot – Naranhito orange, which will once again meet and accompany all the participants of the competition. ”
The water area of Valencia has become particularly famous among yachtsmen around the world, first of all, after the 32nd America's Cup. A moderate wave and perfect weather conditions in March make the OptiOrange Valencia regatta special. St. Petersburg Yacht Club and Real Club Náutico Valencia are making a lot of effort to make the competition really interesting for young athletes. The program of 2019 has everything you need for this: a clinic from a famous coach a week before the regatta, a test regatta on March 7 for all participants, a large number of athletes from the world's strongest yacht clubs, included meals and, of course, oranges, which became the symbol of the regatta.
More than 250 riders from 13 countries have already applied, the maximum number of participants will be 330 athletes (strict quota). Until February 15, everyone will be able to pay participation at a reduced price. Hurry up! Registration and payment of entry fees is possible directly on the regatta website – http://optiorangevalencia.com/
The time of the competition is chosen perfectly in all respects, so, in March, the thermal south-east winds begin to blow. At the same time, the famous Las Fallas festival will take place in Valencia, interesting for both children and their parents. Throughout the regatta, athletes will eat the famous paella (do not forget about unlimited oranges and orange juice!). In addition, all participants will have the wonderful opportunity to store boats on the basis of the Valencian yacht club up to the Spanish Championship in the class "Optimist" or to the Garda Meeting.
And another pleasant surprise prepared by the organizers is a special training camp for all comers, which will be held by the Belgian coach Peter Van Den Bossche, the founder of the team “8 Days a Week”. The collection will last 3 days, from 5 to 7 March.
The organizing committee of OptiOrange Valencia will be happy to help participants with workouts, accommodation and transport. Ask any questions at [email protected]
