Yesterday, Peter birling and Blair TUC won the Auckland gold world championship 49er, and at the same time and a trip to New Zealand at the Olympic games-2020.
During the medal race, held in the Bay of Waitemata, the conditions were difficult: the speed of a wind exceeded 23 knots, and gusts -28 and even more. Birling and Tuck really wanted to win this race – but at the very beginning birling slipped and ended up in the water, and the boat for some time found ourselves in the tail. So both were happy, which ultimately became the fourth – this was more than enough to win the gold.
All that we have to ensure that just 18 hours after the medal race two of the famous racer once again came to the waters of the Bay of Waitemata! This time the crew Te Aihe (translated as “Dolphin”) is the first new Zealand yacht class AC75 where Emirates Team New Zealand is preparing for the Cup “America”.
So – a day without workouts or performances. Maybe this is one of the secrets of the many victories of Peter and Blair?
