Now "Warriors" third
In Miami, the world championship in the Melges 20 yacht class continues. One of the main favorites of the tournament – “Russian bogatyrs” Igor Rytov (Konstantin Besputin, Anton Sergeyev) – is still third in the table.
According to the results of three days of competition and five races, Russian Bogatyrs scored 20 points (parishes 3–4–6–3–4). Ahead of them are two American crews – Hartbreaker skipper Robert Hughes (15 points, arrivals 6 – 2 – 2 – 2 – 3) and Kuai Daniel Thilman (17 points, arrivals 2 – 1 – 1 – 12 – 1). The “Bogatyrs” will have to try very hard to get ahead of the owners, especially considering the forthcoming release.
Another team under the Russian flag, Nika Prosikhina, began Friday with a victory in the fourth race, but only the eighth in the fifth, and now in the overall standings it ranks unexpectedly low for seventh place.
Recall that the crews of "Warriors" and "Nicky" area of the yacht club Coconut Grove Sailing Club is perfectly familiar. For example, just three weeks ago the third stage of the Melges 20 Miami Winter Series was held there, and Nika was the first, and Russian Bogatyrs took the second place.
