News “Fastnet”

Something we all forgot about the most famous race Rolex Fastnet Race. I confess, wrong. Amused to rectify the situation. Here are the main news.

Line honours (ie the best result) among single-hull vessels on account of 27-foot Rambler 88 (USA), which overcame the 608-mile course (in fact the ship took 696 miles) for 1 day, 19 hours, 55 minutes and 2 seconds.

The owner and skipper of Rambler, George David was in seventh heaven: to him, this is the fifth “Fastnet”, his favorite yacht achieved Line honours for the second time in a row – and, more importantly, managed to beat rivals SHK Scallywag (Hong Kong) with skipper David Whittom. How sharp was the struggle, evidenced by the fact that Rambler 88 was ahead of the competitor less than half an hour. If it does exactly what 27 minutes and 22 seconds.

The real battle unfolded among the many yachts IMOCA 60. These yachts now special attention: within a year, will start the next Vendée Globe, and there to Ocean Race (the former Volvo Ocean Race). However, as usual on “Fastnet”, on Board were two people.

The winner was fancy and well-advertised Charal (France) with a crew of Jeremy Bau and Christopher Pratt. The result is 2 days, 1 hour, 17 minutes and 28 seconds. The fight was exciting enough to say that within the hour finished another 4 boats.

The best result with the adjusted time – in 70-foot Wizard (USA) with skipper Charlie Enright, which is widely famous race of the Volvo Ocean Race. And have not yet seen one who could Enright be ahead.

Now about us and about our.

Division Zero IRC.

Weddell (Athanasius Isaev) – finished. 33rd place in the division.

IRC division Two

Jolly Jellyfish (team offshore racing SeaVentus) – at a distance, occupies in the division of the 28-th place.

Skylander (Yuri Fadeev, the team of yacht club “capstan”) – at a distance, occupies in the division of 30-th place.

Thunder 2 (Vladimir Phillips, a team of Russian expats) – at a distance, occupies in the division 37th place.

IRC division Three.

Mirabelle (Nikolai Drozdov, a team of ROSATOM SAILING TEAM) – at a distance, takes 35th place in the division.

Well, it seems, all listed. Although someone may still not mentioned. Then add them in the comments to this post. Thanks in advance.

And – most importantly – good luck to all our!
