Maslivets achieved her goal!

      Maslivets achieved her goal!
On Sunday in Genoa (Italy) the third stage of the 2019 World Cup finishes. And on the eve, on Saturday, three medal races were held. In the photographs with which we decided to illustrate this note, the winners and prize-winners of one of them are in the class Nacra 17.

Maslivets achieved her goal!

Did you know who took the gold? We think many immediately understood who it was. The rest will be explained. Moreover, there is something to talk about.

The man is 42-year-old Iker Martinez, the Olympic champion of Athens 2004 in the 49er class, the silver medalist of Beijing 2008 in the same class.

As for a woman, her name is Olga Maslivets. Mentioning the age of the ladies is not in our rules, but this time it will have to be clarified – she is 41. A participant in four (!) Olympiads in the national team of Ukraine in the class RS: X; in 2012 at the Games in Beijing, she became the fourth, stopping a step away from the pedestal. In 2006, she won silver at the World Championships; in 2011, she won gold at the European Championships.

It is a happy sports fate. But in June of 2016, this fate made a sharp turn: on June 2 of that year, the IOC approved the transfer of the Crimean woman Maslivets to Russian citizenship. Only here soon followed the grimace of the same fate: Olga did not get to the Olympics – young Stefania Elfutina went to Rio, who won bronze there.

What to do Maslivets? In the Russian national team, she no longer has a chance, and the age is not girlish. But I still want to chase and sports excitement has not gone away. All of a sudden, in 2017, Olga begins performing in the Nacra 17 class. For Spain. With Iker Martinez.

And now they are the winners of the World Cup! Cool! Both – with a victory, but Olga – especially warm words.

For you to understand: the Maslivets never won the cup stages before; was once the second, third … And now – finally!

At the same time, the British won the silver in Genoa Ben Saxton (2017 world champion) and Nicola Boniface. And on the third step of the podium climbed the famous Olympic champions-2016 Argentines Santiago Lange and Cecilia Carranza.

Wow company!

Well, now is the time to go to the prose of life. None of the medal races on Saturday (except for Nacra 17, awards were played at 49er and 49erFX), the representatives of the Russian national team did not hit, we talked about this the day before. About who won in these disciplines, you will learn, having become acquainted with the technical results. We only note that the third place in 49er was taken by the champions of the Games-2016 and the winners of the “America's” New Zealanders Peter Berling and Blair Tuke who returned to the Olympic sport.

In Sunday medal races, representatives of our team, alas, also did not have a place. Including those on whom we so counted. Everyone has reasons why they made such a speech, quite objective. But this is not easier. Neither us nor, above all, the children themselves.
These are the results with which they finished. 470. Pavel Sozykin / Denis Gribanov – 30th place. Laser. Sergey Komissarov – 17th place, Daniel Krutskikh – 25th, Kirill Evfimievsky – 55th. In three classes Russians were not represented at all.
