The sixth day is ongoing 3600-mile race Vendée-Arctic-les Sables d’olonne, and the fight at a distance is truly exciting.
Already passed most of the race, and the so-called “beacon of UNESCO” (set to the North-West of Iceland at the intersection with the 60th parallel, where the participants had to turn South to the Azores) were left far behind. But the advanced group of riders is still very tight, and the leaders are replaced, sometimes several times a day.
Now – Friday, at 11.45 Moscow time – in front of German Boris Herrmann on the SeaExplorer, but two French Jeremy Bau (Charal) and Keven Escoffier (PRB) behind 3.7 miles each. Best female Samantha Davis (Initiatives) and Charly Dalen (APIVIA) too close – behind by 7.1 and 8.5 miles respectively.
It is assumed that the first racers finish in Les Sables d’olonne 14th of July.
