French Banque Populaire has announced that it will build for skipper armel Le Cle, a new Maxi-trimaran class Ultime.
This decision was made after two and a half months after, during a transatlantic race Route du Rhum – Destination Guadeloupe 340 miles North-East of the Azores turned over, and then almost collapsed during the storm the famous Banque Populaire IX. It is his remains, delivered in the Spanish Vigo, you can see in the picture.
Skipper Le Glue – in contrast to the ship – didn’t hurt, but, in his own words, experienced a real shock when so dear to his heart trimaran has ceased to exist. “However, we cannot stop, we must move forward, says Le Glue. – About what happened, the colleagues from other teams that they also concluded, and the incident is not repeated.”
Coincidentally, this year marks 30 years since, when one of the largest French banks – Banque Populaire began to promote sailing in the country. The collaboration decided to continue: as you already know, for armel Le Cle on the money the Bank will construct a new Maxi-trimaran class Ultime, which will be called Banque Populaire XI.
To work on the project will be the design firm of VPLP Design and GSea Design, build trimaran at Multiplast shipyard and CDK Technologies. It is planned that a new – and, importantly, an innovative ship to be launched in late 2020 or early 2021.
In addition, Banque Populaire has announced that it has chosen the young (not yet 30 years old) Clarice Kramer as his official skipper for the forthcoming Vendée Globe. The racer will be given a new yacht class Imoca 60.
Kremer prepare for the Vendée Globe will be all the same armel Le Cle, which, recall, won in the same round-the-world race held in 2016-17.
