Keep it up, Sergey!
Friends, we have good news. The field of the next day and two final races of the World Championship in the Laser Standard class, which continues in Sakaiminato (Japan), our Sergey Komissarov climbed to sixth place in the table!
In the first of Sunday's races, Sergey finished 1st. In the second – only 46th, but this result, fortunately, went to the release. Now Komissarov has 45 points, and he, as already mentioned, has risen to 6th position.
At the same time Matthew Wyrne from Australia, who is in fifth place, has the same 45 points. And the fourth, the Frenchman Jean-Baptista Bern, – 44. The third German Philippe Boole, too, is on hand – 40 points.
Is that the new leader – Tom Burton – far away: the Australian has 27 points. But as they say, where did ours not disappear ?!
It is also gratifying that after today's races, the Commissioners headed the list of yachtsmen and countries that are fighting for licenses of the 2020 Games. The closest pursuer – Swede Jesper Stalheim – 8 points behind the Russians.
Maxim Nikolaev – in 40th place. For comparison: the winner of the last two world championships, the best yachtsman of the world 2018 Cypriot Pavlos Kontides is now 47th. Another representative from Russia, Daniel Krutskikh, is the 76th.
