Just a point to silver …
In Mikhmoret (Israel), the European Championship in the Techno 293 class came to an end. Here's what the RUS Youth Sailing Team Facebook page says:
The organizers planned to complete the competition by 15:00, but due to weather conditions the race had to be postponed to a later date. Fortunately, the athletes still managed to enter the water. The results of the competition were summed up according to the results of 12 races in which representatives of the Russian team showed a decent result.
Most of the regatta, Ekaterina Kovaleva, for whom this European championship was a debut at the international level, was in the top five in the junior fleet. According to the results of the competition, the athlete took 3rd place among athletes under 15 years old, however, it is worth noting that only one point separated the girl from the silver medal!
Last year, Yana Reznikova completed her performance at the European Championship in the Techno 293 class, having won bronze. This time the girl became the 4th among athletes under 17 years old.
Among young men, the best result was shown by Dmitry Nesterenko, who took 9th place among athletes under 15 years old. At the competitions, the athlete showed a stable result, coming in the 10 strongest windsurfers. According to the results of the competition, Nikita Nezhentsev took 26th place.
Congratulations to our athletes and good luck in future performances!
