It all began in 1898

A few hours remain before the start of XXIII the Saint-Petersburg sailing week (sppn) and the championship of Russia in the national cruising racing yacht class “L-6”. Sppn is one of the oldest regattas in Russia, Dating back to 1898.

Last Tuesday, held a meeting of the credentials Committee, the results of which to participate in the race said 33 crews of the boats from St. Petersburg and other regions of Russia. The size of participating boats range from 16 and up to 7 meters in length. All participants will be razdelenyna 5 scoring groups:

1. A group of yachts with racing rate ORC;

2. Group yacht “L-6”;

3. The yachts of the “Taurus”;

4. Group yacht “Carter 30;

5. Group yacht Chetvertichnykh.

Yachts are the largest in number, the test group “L-6, in the amount of 13 pennants, also take part in the championship of Russia cruising-racing yacht class “L-6.

The first phase will run from St. Petersburg to Kronstadt, after which, the evening of 10 August, the fleet will take to the stage Kronstadt – the Pine forest.

The organizers of the regatta is the St. Petersburg sailing Union, the St. Petersburg Marine Assembly, the Saint Petersburg River yacht club of trade unions, Sports team Spbrc yachting Association cruising and racing yacht class “L-6”. The regatta will be held under the auspices of “administration of sea ports of the Baltic sea”, the administration of MO “Sosnovoborsky urban region”.
