In Sorrento (Australia), the first race day of the World Cup in RS: X class ended. Both men and women had three races.
For men (70 participants, riders compete in two fleets), the bronze medalist of the Rio Games, Frenchman Pierre de Coca, took 4 points. Followed by Kieran Badloe (Netherlands) – 5 and another Frenchman Tom Goyar – 11 points.
Three Russians started the championship, say diplomatically, without shine. Evgeny Ayvazyan – in 58th place (88 points, 36UFD arrivals – 24-28), Vladislav Burmistrenko – in 60th (89 points, 36DNF arrivals – 25-28) and, finally, Alexander Askerov – in 64th ( 93 points, arrivals 29 – 32 – 32).

For women (46 participants), the only representative of Russia, Stefaniya Elfutina, after three races takes 12th place – 38 points, arrivals 9 – 16 – 13.
The leading three are Polish Maya Dziarnovska (11 points), Emma Watson (Great Britain) – 17 points and Lilian de Geus (Netherlands) – 22.
