After six months of renovation at the shipyard Multiplast racing trimaran Edmond de Rothschild (aka Gitana 17) was launched.
In addition to the return of the lost race of the nasal tip of the right float (and the corresponding strengthening of all structures) the ship, as reported in the press release, “was subjected to additional Aero – and hydrodynamic optimization”.
Interestingly, data on the actual load on the hull was obtained using the recorded on-Board inertial navigation system data about the actual loads acting on the boat during that ill-fated race.
It is also reported that already this Tuesday trimaran will go to sea for the first photo shoot with his team – Frank Kamma and Charles Cadrele.
