More than 1,200 sailors began to fight in the ten Olympic classes 470, 49er, 49erFX, Laser, Laser Radial, Finn and Nacra17, RS:x Our country is represented at the regatta with 36 athletes.
Despite the fact that this race is not played out licenses for the Olympic games, many consider it one of the main events of the season, where you can see the level of competition and to evaluate the results of their winter training.
The first day was very significant for our team.
The best result Sergey Komissarov in the Laser class,winning the first race of the day and finishing 7th in the second, he took 4-th place in the final Protocol. Also in the top ten of Maxim Nikolaev with the 4th and 6th wards – 8th place.
Well made Paul Sozykin and Denis Gribanov 470 class. In the two races held our crew took 7th and 2nd places and now occupies the 5th position.
In the class of Laser Radial girls the best among our steel Kisluhina Maria and Valeria, Lomachenko – 16-th and 18-th place. And Valeria won the first race!
In the top twenty in the women’s 470 class standings of Alisa kiriliuk and Angelica Chernyakhovskaya – 25th and 17th wards.
The youngest crew in the class 49erFX – Zoya Novikova and Diana Sabirova – still retains the chance to get into the gold fleet, but the girls will have to try that in the future to avoid embarrassing mistakes. In the first race of the day, they came to the top mark third, and although he later conceded ahead of more experienced rivals, were able to finish 11. Not bad for a beginners class. However, neither in the second nor in the third race girls are unable to hold their position in the end of the 48-th place.
