Covil tuned to record
Yesterday at the Multiplast shipyard in Van (it is a city in the north-west of France), the Sodebo 3 Ultim maxi-trimaran 3 (32 meters in length, 23 in width) was launched.
Experts pay attention to the constructional feature of Sodebo 3: the cabin, compared to other vessels of the same class, is pushed forward, and right behind it is a 34-meter mast. How successful such a configuration, must confirm the tests that will begin next week.
Skipper brand new trimaran will be, as we have already reported, the famous Tom Kovil, who is now 50 years old. In the past, he made 7 world travels and, in particular, in 2016 alone and non-stop went around the world for 49 days, 3 hours, 7 minutes and 38 seconds, which was then a world record, which in 2017 was improved Francois Gabar.
Kovil hopes that thanks to Sodebo Ultim 3 he will be able to regain the record himself. And, perhaps, this will happen next winter.
