Croatia opens the borders!
Last Friday, the first good and encouraging news arrived for Russian yachtsmen and charter agencies in recent times. Croatia opens its borders to foreign citizens. The reason for entry may be not only the fact of ownership of the yacht, but also a contract for its rental. To cross the border, you must present a completed ship role. The 14-day quarantine / self-isolation requirement has been removed. Charters start on May 30th.
We asked Yulia Slivin, the leading yacht charter manager, from the Russian charter agency FairySail, to comment on this information:
“Indeed, according to the last official document published on the website of the Ministry of Transport of Croatia (Implementation of the Decision on the Temporary Ban on Crossing the Border Crossings of the Republic of Croatia Maritime Trade and Nautical Tourism) charter of yachts and / or use of accommodation services on board ships , yachts, boats is the most important economic reason for coming to Croatia. The reason for such an arrival must be confirmed by the crew role (crew-list) with a list of all passengers, which must be entered into the eNautika electronic system by the charter company or the owner of the vessel.
Of course, increased attention in the conditions of the so-called “new reality” will be paid to sanitary aspects (the presence of sanitizers, masks on board, instructions on how to act if someone from the crew suspects COVID19, maintaining social distance in public places on the shore, the use of masks and gloves, etc.). All the nuances must be clarified with the agent through whom you booked the yacht or with a representative of the charter company before arrival.
Our Croatian colleagues from charter companies are currently pinning their hopes on tourists from neighboring countries, where yachtsmen can get by car. For Russian sailors hungry for sea, the main call for vacation planning and booking yachts in Croatia will be the opening of Russian borders, the resumption of flights and the absence of a 14-day quarantine after returning.
For our part, we sincerely hope for a favorable scenario, namely, the opportunity to go to Croatia, Greece, Turkey and other popular summer destinations for yachting in mid-July. ”
