Former Vice-President of Aston Martin , Christian Marti (Marti, Christian) was appointed Director General of the British superyacht Builder Sunseeker International. In this position, he was replaced by Phil Pofam (Phil Popham), who left the position in the fall.
Like the previous Sunseeker CEO, Marty came to the shipyard from the automotive industry.
For more than 25 years, he has collaborated with Jaguar Land Rover and McLaren Automotive. During his tenure as General Manager of sales and Vice-President of Aston Martin, he was a key figure of the Executive team that turned the company into a cult thriving brand.
“Christian Marty appeared in Sunseeker at a crucial moment of transition into a new phase of growth. I am sure that with his help we in record time, achieve outstanding financial performance,” said John Zeng (John Zeng), representative of the Board of Directors of the main shareholder of Sunseeker, the Chinese group Dalian Wanda.
Commenting on his appointment, Marty noted that the company has already launched a five-year development strategy: Sunseeker regularly takes orders, and is actively investing in the development of new products and technology development.
The company recently announced plans to release in 2021 flagship model —the 49-metre tri-deck motor boat Sunseeker 161. The new vessel will be the first aluminium superyacht shipyard. The boat will release in cooperation with the Dutch company ICON Yachts.
