Cheer for ours!
Today in Melbourne the first starts of the World Championship in the Laser Radial class took place. In this regard, there is good news – and not very. Where do we start?
Let's start with "not really" – to complete this note on an upbeat note. So…
The 104th women’s competitions, divided into two fleets in qualifications, managed to hold one race each. The winners were Frenchwoman Marie Barra (you see her in the picture) and the current world champion Anne-Marie Rindom from Denmark.
The most eminent of the participants of the championship – Olympic champion Rio and six-time winner of world championships Marit Boumeester (Netherlands) – as always among the leaders: she came in her fleet to finish third and takes 5th place.
As for the Russians, they, alas, did not flash that day. Ekaterina Zyuzina – at 46th place (24 points), Maria Kislukhina – at 48th (25 points), Ekaterina Guseva – at 67th (34), Alexandra Lukoyanova – at 83rd (42). And finally, Valeria Lomatchenko – in the last 102nd place (she, alas, was disqualified by the rule of the black flag).
Now for the good news. In the only race for men (66 participants) our Daniil Krutskikh won. Dmitry Golovkin – came to the finish 11th, Daniil Maistrovsky – 13th.
This is the news of the first day. Good luck to all Russians! Go ahead, guys and girls, we cheer for you!
