Changing of the Guard
On Friday evening, a ceremony was held in San Remo to award the winners of the festive regatta dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the Dragon class. We have already announced who became the winners, so we will not repeat ourselves. Now let's talk about this.

During the ceremony, two special prizes were awarded. One of them received Vasily Senatorov, for whom Friday was the last day of his tenure as president of the International Dragon Class Association.
Senatorov (citing the official "dragon" website) "as a sign of his merits in the development of the Dragon class and a huge personal contribution to the organization of celebrations in honor of the 90th anniversary" under a standing ovation was handed over to the ovation by Jens Ratsak (Monaco) )
Another honorary prize – a dragon figurine "for many years of commitment to the class" – was awarded to the Irishman Don Street, the skipper of the IRL15 Gypsy, built in 1937 (!). Street’s response was short but capacious:
– 15 years ago, I spoke at a regatta dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the class. Now the turn of the 90th anniversary regatta has come, and I spoke here on a yacht 86 years old, and myself 89. I’m sure we intend to take part in the regatta in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Dragon!
