Championship after championship!
The season of the largest sailing competitions starts this year as never before: in February there will be a series of world championships in the Olympic sail classes.
Already on the upcoming Tuesday, February 11, in Melbourne will be held the first race of the World Cup in the "Laser Standard". The lists of participants in the regatta include 130 people from 45 countries, including three Russians – Sergey Komissarov, Denmark Krutskikh and Maxim Nikolaev.
On the same day, in another Australian city – Geelong (which is just 70 kilometers from Melbourne), the world championships will be launched in three classes at once – 49er, 49erFX and Nakra 17. Alas, ours will not be ours. Yes, far away. Yes, expensive. But … It's still a shame!
On Tuesday, February 23, attention will again be riveted to Melbourne – the turn will come to the first starts at Laser Radial. Five were announced immediately from Russia – Maria Kislukhina, Ekaterina Zyuzina, Ekaterina Guseva, Valeria Lomatchenko and Alexander Lukoyanov. Let's hope that the quantity will eventually turn into quality.
Finally, another day later, on the 24th, in Sorrento, Australia (this is again not far from Melbourne), the grand opening of the world championship in RS: X class will take place. The men on the lists claimed are Eugene Ayvazyan, Alexander Askerov and Vladislav Burmistrenko. In women – Stephanie Elfutina.
This is how tense this February is. Cheer!
