Late in the evening during the Cannes Yachting Festival, this yacht, shining with all the lights, silently approached the beach, where guests of the Sanlorenzo party were waiting for her. The starless sky, the almost black surface of the water and the white body writing pirouettes on it … For a complete explosion of emotions, only the triumph and grandeur of Tchaikovsky’s music was not enough.
In the morning, despite the pouring rain, I was already at the pier. I was driven by a strong, almost childish desire to find out what was inside and how: a non-standard appearance was a clear hint of an unusual and rich “inner world” …
Simply huge in area (almost 20 sq. M) for a yacht of this length, wide and high, open aft teak deck in the style of a “beach club” allows you to do anything there: arrange tables and chairs, swim, sunbathe on sun loungers, arrange dances , hold a tender with a length of 4 m and an aquabike. Two cranes (lifting capacity 500 kg) built into the bulwark allow them to be launched and returned, which makes the latter look massive. In addition to the cranes, there is a mass of equipment in the stern: mooring winches, powerful half-bridges, technological lockers. Another useful thing is a wet bar with a grill on the port side. And if you raise a piece of the deck (electric drive), access to the engine compartment opens. It is not high (about a meter), but it is quite convenient for servicing engines and systems.
An interesting solution – cranes built into the sides for launching the tender
We go forward and through sliding doors of complex shape we go down the steps to the lower salon with large windows along the sides, furnished with comfortable furniture. From here you can climb to the upper saloon or to the master cabin, which occupies the entire width of the hull amidships. King size bed, dressing table, luxurious bathroom with two washbasins, towels with Bluegame embroidery … This cabin is adjoined by a small living room / study, which can also become a cabin with one king size bed or two beds; for her there is a latrine in the vestibule (it is also a day one). Further up the bow is an excellent VIP cabin; and further down the nose, behind the collision bulkhead, there is a crew compartment: bunk beds in two tiers and a latrine outside the door.
Returning to the deck and climbing the starboard ladder, you find yourself … in the upper cockpit with a large corner sofa and table, in front of which is the upper deck saloon with galley, dinette and control station.
Ergonomics and aesthetics of the large steering console are excellent. The dashboard is dominated by three Garmin 12 ″ MFDs, loaded as needed: now – the state of systems and mechanisms, a chartplotter, a stern view camera. The two high chairs are comfortable, but without adjustment. The main controls of the boat on the dashboard (first of all, the engine grips and the joystick) are duplicated between the seats: you can control the boat both sitting and standing – the view is equally good. But I would have covered the stainless steel steering wheel with leather: it is more pleasant for the hands, and in the style of the black carbon fiber panel. From here you can quickly exit to the deck through the port and starboard doors on pantographs (not hinges). We have already seen different mechanisms-drives of the TV screen, and so here it folds to the ceiling.
