Beauty? Monster?
The official presentation of the AC75 yacht, built by Team New Zealand to prepare for the 36th draw of the America’s Cup, will be held in Auckland tomorrow, but the team has already distributed the first photos with the caption: “Spies are coming hot days!”
It’s clear that it’s too early to draw conclusions from these images, you need to see how the vessel will behave during the tests, but, of course, huge foyles are immediately evident. In our opinion, they look creepy.
We emphasize that this particular boat (its length is 20.7 m, mast height – 26.5 m) will not take part directly in the America Cup – it is used for training the New Zealand team and for performing in America's Cup World Series: the first regatta This series will be held next April in Italy.
At the same time, work on the second – “combat” – AC75 New Zealanders have already begun. And already next week, "boat" applicants – the Italian team Luna Rossa will demonstrate their boat to the public.
