From 10 to 17 July will be the main sea festival North of the capital, “Baltic yacht week”. This year the event is held for the third time in a row. Traditionally, the main program of the “Week” will unfold at the walls of the fortress.
The event is part of the St. Petersburg Marine Assembly. Organizers: Committee for tourism development of Saint-Petersburg, Saint-Petersburg sailing Union.
Festival “Baltic yacht week” is designed to maintain the status of St. Petersburg as the guardian of the main Maritime traditions of Russia, to increase attention to the sport yacht in St. Petersburg and, the main thing is to show the citizens and guests of the sailing culture in all its diversity. It is expected that in the coming years, “Baltic yacht week” will be included in the top ten of the largest Maritime festivals in the world. The event is held annually from 2017. In 2018 the events of the festival was attended by over 100 thousand people.
“Baltic yacht week is the largest sailing event in St. Petersburg and one of the most iconic in Russia. The festival reveals the theme of the sails from different angles. A rich cultural, educational, entertainment, sporting and business program will be waiting for residents and guests of the city on the water and on land”, – says Sergey Alekseev, President of Saint-Petersburg sailing Union.

The main activities of the “Baltic yacht week 2019”
Outdoor ladder
In the river for a few days will go large sailboats, and each has its own history, destiny and unique architecture. Festival guests will be able to climb aboard, see how to construct these ships and meet the crew.
Like last year, in the format of open ramp for guests of the festival will work the tall ships “Lady L” (length 23 meters) and “Hope” (length 36 meters), which will be moored on the University embankment.
This year they will join one of the largest yacht projects at the present time, the sailing ship “Poltava”. It recreated the 54-gun ship of the line of the Petrine era, launched in St. Petersburg in 2018. The sailboat will be moored on the English embankment, 56a.

– 10-11 July, from 12.00 to 20.00 – Free entrance to the sailing ship “Lady L”
– 12-13 July, from 15.00 to 20.00 – Free entrance to the sailing ship “Poltava”
– July 15, from 12.00 to 20.00 – Free entrance to the sailing ship “Nadezhda”
Day, Peter and Paul fortress beach
Rich sports and entertainment programme will unfold on Friday and the weekend (12-14 July) on the beach of the Peter and Paul fortress.
From 10.00 to 18.00 on the water spectators are waiting for exciting races of the National sailing League, the largest yacht project Russia, with the participation of 25 renowned teams from different regions of the country. They will compete with each other on the sports yacht class J70.
On the shore of the festival guests waiting for the event “Sea village”. From morning to evening there will be a theater-lecture hall, where you can watch the theme video tutorials, interviews and films and listen to the history of famous sailors and boaters. Master classes for adults and children can learn the basics of shipbuilding, rigging skills (knitting sea knots), principles for the management of sailing vessels of different classes, and more. Evening entertainment, beach and Paul fortress
July 13, Saturday, festival guests waiting for a big concert and entertainment program. From 18.00 till 23.00 on stage to perform popular Russian artists and DJs. The headliner Saturday night is a musician and singer, one of the founders of the legendary bit-Quartet “the Secret” Maxim Leonidov. The performance artist will begin at 21.30
At 19.00 on Saturday kicks off the show kitesurfers and windsurfers. Water will be released by leading Russian athletes in these classes, the winners of world and European Championships.
The culmination of the evening will be the water-light show with participation of sailing ships and fireworks, beginning at 22.45. Viewers will see a great show of agility, music and lights, followed by fireworks.
Sunday, July 14, the organizers also prepared for the guests of the festival evening concert.
Photo exhibition
From 10 to 17 July in the framework of the “Week” will be organised a street photo exhibition in the Green area of the fortress “St. Petersburg-the sailing capital of Russia”, telling about the modern yachting world Petersburg. The guests will be presented 60 photos from the best yachting photographers of Russia.
Business conference
A separate event in the “Week” will be a business conference which traditionally gathers a wide range of boaters, representatives of government and business to discuss topical issues in the water industry. The conference will be devoted to the discussion of yacht tourism in St. Petersburg, the development of sailing and yachting infrastructure. Business program partner of the “Baltic yacht of the week” – the publishing house “Kommersant Saint-Petersburg”.
Open days
In the framework of festival will pass open days at yacht clubs of the city. Petersburgers can get acquainted with the structure and features of yachting infrastructure of the Northern capital, opportunities to practice sailing for adults and children. The open days will participate in the St. Petersburg River yacht club of trade unions (Petrovskaya Kosa, 9), sailing school “Krestovsky island” (South road 4).
