“Guess who we met today in Gran Canaria?
Sergei Afonin, editor-in-chief of Tarpon Magazine, has been sailing the Atlantic for several months now!
Sergey is a Petersburger, and his goal is to spend a year on his boat and make a circular voyage across the Atlantic.
June 9, he started from St. Petersburg, now he got to the Canary. Then he plans to cross the Atlantic, walk along the Caribbean islands and return to Europe, having run into the Azores along the way.
He travels on his 6-meter boat Loppan (in translation – "Flea" or "Junk shop") of Swedish production, model Havsfidra.
The boat was built in 1971 and acquired by Sergey in 2005. Soon she will celebrate her 50th birthday! ”
