Tomorrow will begin the second stage of the transatlantic race Mini Transat. The start will be in Las Palmas on the island of Gran Canaria. And finishes the race in the town of Le Marin in Martinique. Distance is 2700 nautical miles.
But it will be tomorrow. And yet – the latest cooking, a little more leisure, meetings… one of them said on his page on “Facebook” Irina Gracheva. Here’s what she wrote:
“Guess who we met today in Gran Canaria?
Sergey Afonin, the chief editor of Tarpon for several months makes a solo voyage across the Atlantic!
Sergei in St. Petersburg, and his goal is to spend a year on the boat and make a round trip voyage across the Atlantic.
9 June, he started from St. Petersburg, has now reached the Canary Islands. Then he plans to cross the Atlantic, go to the Caribbean and return to Europe, he ran to the Azores along the way.
He travels on his 6-meter boat Loppan (translated as “Flea” or “junk Shop”) the Swedish production, the model Havsfidra.
The boat was built in 1971 and acquired Sergei in 2005. Soon it will celebrate its 50 anniversary!”
