As if they didn't leave!
Two famous New Zealand sailors – Peter Burling and Blair Tuke – two and a half years later rejoined the 49er crew. And they did it with glitter!

Prior to this, the last tournament at 49er, where they played (and won gold medals!), Was the Olympics in Rio. That is a break in the speeches in this class was two and a half years!
So, the general impression of all who saw Berling and Tuke in Auckland – they seemed not to leave the class! Of the 11 races, double title winners of the world's best yachtsman won 6, and won the tournament for a clear advantage. The second prize-winners of the regatta – Isaac Machardi and William Mackenzie – Peter and Blair were ahead by 14 points, while the crew that took third place – by 22.
"It was cool! – said Burling after the finish. – You know, when you sit in the saddle of a bicycle after a long break, the former skills quickly return. Here it was the same. And from this one sensation we got great pleasure! ”
Soon – in April – Burling and Tuke will face off with the strongest European racers. It will happen during the regatta Trofeo Princesa Sofia in Mallorca.
