The Russians won the first place in the coastal races in Helsinki, and they came first in all three races. Thus, Leviathan secured the lead in the overall standings of the Nord Stream Race, as well as in coastal races. The second place was won by the Danish Royal Yacht Club, the third – the North German Racing Union.

“I think we relaxed a bit after the first place in the offshore, which we hadn’t been given before. Today they took good starts in two races, in the third they started a little worse, but then they fought with the Danes and literally pulled out a victory. We are returning home – and, of course, we want to come with a victory, ”said team tactician Mikhail Sheremetyev.

Ahead is the last offshore stage of the Helsinki regatta – St. Petersburg. It is expected that this will be the shortest transition – about 15 hours. Throughout the transition, the boats will go with a fair wind, its speed at gusts will reach 25-30 knots.

At the last stage, the Leviathan team will have to fight for leadership in the offshore rating with the Swedish and Danish yacht clubs. Now the Swedish and Danish teams are 2 points behind, and if one of them takes gold at the next stage, and the Russians finish third, then Leviathan will lose the lead in the offshore standings.

The finish of the Nord Stream Race regatta will take place on July 4th behind Kronstadt. The expected time is 8am. In the evening the boats will moor on the Lieutenant Schmidt Embankment.

July 5th events:

10.30 – 12.30. Boat excursions, meeting with sportsmen (Lieutenant Schmidt Embankment).

13.00 Awarding ceremony on the ship "Poltava" (English Embankment).
