The Russians won the first place in races in Helsinki, and they came first in all three races. Thus “Leviathan” has secured the lead in the overall standings of the Nord Stream Race, and in races. Second place was won by the Royal Danish yacht club, the third North German racing Union.
“I think we relaxed a bit after the first place in the offshore that we have not given. Today took good starts in two races, the third started a little worse, but then fought with the Danes and literally snatched victory. We are back home – and, of course, want to come with a victory,” said team tactics Mikhail Sheremet.
Ahead of the last offshore stage of the regatta Helsinki – Saint Petersburg. It is expected that this will be a very short crossing – about 15 hours. Throughout the transition the boats will go with the wind, its speed gusts will reach 25 to 30 knots.
At the last stage of the team’s “Leviathan” will compete for leadership in the offshore ranking with the Swedish and Danish yacht clubs. Now a Swedish and Danish team behind by 2 points, and if one of them will win gold at the next stage, and the Russians finish third, the “Leviathan” will lose the leadership in offshore classification.
