"Akhmat" increases the gap
In Sochi, the second racing day of the Russian Championship in the class of yachts J / 70 ended. The 24 strongest teams in the country continue to fight for the title of class champion. Here is the website http://nationalsailingleague.ru
Sochi weather was again distinguished by its inconsistency: contrary to expectations, the wind was not stable enough.
Nikolay Yushkov, chief judge of the regatta:
– The day started very well: in the first two races, the southeast wind blew at a speed of 15 knots. We were glad that the distance was quite large, the duration of the race was about an hour. In the middle of the day, the wind changed its direction by 180 degrees, and for a couple of hours we waited for it to settle. As a result, he returned to his original direction, and we spent two more races.
Thus, on November 2, within the framework of the Russian Championship, 4 starts were held, and in the general protocol of the regatta – 6 races.
The leadership in the overall standings continues to be held by the crew of the Chechen Republic Akhmat. The Bozhko team has an excellent result of the day – two first and two second passes. The 2018 Artube RUS1 champions Valeria Kovalenko also had a great Saturday: they have a third, fourth and two first arrivals, which in total gives 16 points and second place in the preliminary results table.
The third line of the protocol is occupied by the crew of the MSailing team of Andrey Malygin, and immediately followed by Mikhail Poslamovsky and his MSailing team – CSKA. CARAMBA Pyotr Nosov fifth place, sixth – ZID art Sailing team Zoran Paunovich, seventh – “Russian heroes” Igor Rytov.
Tomorrow is the final day of the Russian championship. It is safe to say that the denouement of the country's main regatta in this class will be very interesting!
