Only 2 days, 20 hours, 28 minutes and 50 seconds it took the team of five people led by Francis Guyana to pass on the Maxi trimaran IDEC SPORT 845 nautical miles from Ho Chi Minh city (Vietnam) to Shengena (China).
You could cover the distance faster, but as pre-warned of Guion, on the road tri there were many Islands and fishing boats. So 63-year-old skipper preferred to avoid unnecessary risks: the route was climbed with an average speed of 11.4 per node. And the maximum speed that could develop on the segment from Ho Chi Minh city to Shengena, – only 18.3 per node. IDEC SPORT for all this – so children’s toys.
Now after a short rest and checking all the systems of the ship – IDEC SPORT will depart from Hong Kong (right) in the far journey of 13,000 miles to London on the route of the classic Tea race.
