At the Yacht club of Saint-Petersburg large-scale reconstruction: the construction of the most modern harbour in Russia
At the St. Petersburg international economic forum the Chairman of the Board of PJSC “Gazprom” Alexey Miller and acting Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov and the President of the St. Petersburg regional sports public organization “Yacht-club of Saint-Petersburg” Vladimir Liubomirov signed an Agreement on cooperation in the field of physical culture and sports.
A similar tripartite agreement was signed earlier in 2013. The new agreement is valid until 2022. Its main objective is the further development and popularization of sailing, including children and youth, mass and high performance sport.
The parties will promote in Saint Petersburg, this spectacular sailing events, festivals and regattas, including competitions of the international class. In particular, in 2019, there will be massive competitions Windsurfing world championship in the Olympic class, sailing Board RS:X. In the nearest plans – large-scale reconstruction of the harbour in the port of “Hercules” and the construction of a new yacht club.
After the reconstruction of the Yacht club of Saint-Petersburg will host the most prestigious competition in sailing from international regattas to the Olympic games. Work will be completed in 2020.
Gazprom and the Government of St. Petersburg will continue to support the work of the “Yacht club of Saint-Petersburg” on organization and holding of the largest offshore regatta in the Baltic sea — Nord Stream Race. With the assistance of Gazprom, the leading sailing club team — Bronenosec Sailing Team — will participate in the prestigious international competition of racing sailing yachts. Will continue implementation of unique youth project “Hope of the seas” — sail training exercise for students and urban youth on a legendary schooner “Hope”, built and launched in 1912. The company, as before, will help the “sailing Academy” (founder — “the Yacht club of Saint-Petersburg”) in the preparation of young athletes.
The government of St. Petersburg will contribute to the realization of the project of construction of cultural-historical center “Ship “Poltava” — a large modern Museum complex, which will be the center for the study of Maritime history of the city.
