Today in Auckland (New Zealand) at the team Emirates Team New Zealand held a ceremony of launching the first yachts AC75. On such vessels in 2021 here in Auckland, will compete members 36 of the Cup “of America.”
At the ceremony, invited five hundred guests, including the Prime Minister of New Zealand Jacinda Adhern, who gave a short but heartfelt speech and using simple devices smashed a bottle of champagne. A boat called Te Aihe: translated from the Maori language – “Dolphin”.
Note that the ceremony was accompanied by rain. Participants unanimously considered this a good sign: it means that Te Aihe waiting for a happy destiny.
The first pictures of the new Zealand AC75 (its design and construction took more than a hundred thousand man-hours!) as you know , appeared the day before, but then the pictures were taken from a distance. It is now possible to consider the first yacht of a new class in detail.
