The scandal around 75 percent

Apparently, the International Federation sail – World Sailing – could break a scandal.

Last Friday, the Executive Director of World Sailing, Andy hunt sent out to the members of the governing Council of Federation of the Protocol record of the meeting held in early November in Sarasota (USA). Council members were asked in two weeks to approve this document or, if something does not agree, attach a dissenting opinion. In principle, the usual bureaucratic procedure.

The document appeared and the voting results of the members of the Council of World Sailing on the question of the inclusion of keel boats in the Olympics in 2024 in Paris. The proposal could be adopted only if voted for by more than 75 percent of members voting. That’s exactly what happened – in any case, this alerted the world relevant services World Sailing.

Only here is everyone in this case pure? Several members of the Council, having received the Protocol entry with the outcome of the vote, was surprised and angrily said to the hunt, that the person they voted did not, as it is recorded in the document. Who are these people and how many of them – not reported, but, according to the influential Sailing Illustrated, it is likely, in fact, the milestone of 75 per cent of the voting results has not been achieved.

That is so, we, I think, will know very soon. I would like to know the opinion of our people in the Council World Sailing Oleg Ilyin. Oleg Alekseevich, what do you all think of this situation?
