The organizers of the 28th annual yacht show in Monaco a month after the event, summarized the event and announced the results of the fifth prize of the Monaco Yacht Show Superyacht Awards. We will remind, the exhibition was held from 26 to 29 September in port Hercules.
The main yacht of the 42 new products this year, represented in Monaco and the yacht with the best design was recognized as the 90-metre DAR from the Dutch shipyard Oceanco.
The exterior of yacht was designed by Studio De Basto Designs. According to the website Superyachtfan.com the ship is owned by Russian billionaire Ziyad Manasir. Even before the opening of the DAR was considered to be one of her main favorites.
MYS prize for the best design received one of the largest Chinese yacht — 108,8-meter Illusion Plus, launched in April this year at the shipyard Pride Mega Yachts. Interior design of the ship was engaged in the Sino sander (Sander Sinot).
Another favorite of the exhibition is a 72-meter Solo from the Italian shipyard Tankoa — was recognized as the most environmentally friendly yacht MYS. This is despite the fact that its project was created 10 years ago. Sponsor nomination was also made by the Italian classification society (RINA).
With regard to the overall outcome of the exhibition, the organizers noted a two percent decline in attendance compared to the 2017 year. This is due to the fact that this year the emphasis has deliberately been placed on individual visitors from a number of young potential yacht owners.
“We work hand in hand with exhibitors, to offer the most prestigious event in the field superyachting younger generation of buyers. We have a double task: to offer our visitors entertaining and informative dive into the world of superyachting and at the same time to satisfy the requirements of the industry. Ordering a new yacht projects profitable for all sectors presented at the exhibition”, — says the General Manager of the exhibition Gael Tallarida (Gaëlle Tallarida).
And yet, as noted in the edition of the Superyacht Times, the exhibition in Monaco has grown over the past year. If the number of visitors MYS fell slightly, the average length of boats increased to 49.5 metres, 0.5 metres longer than in 2017.
