“Power of Siberia” ran aground in Palma de Mallorca

Sailing yacht “Power of Siberia” washed up on the rocky beach of Palma de Mallorca in the morning of 15 October, after a restless night with the storm surge waves.

32-foot ketch ran aground right behind the popular promenade Paseo Maritimo. The details of the incident remain unclear, but apparently the boat went down to the shore at a time when she was at anchor. Attempts to remove the ship off the rocks were not successful due to the strong excitement of the sea, currently, the boat is still in a precarious position on the rocks.

“Power of Siberia” (model Kestrel 106) was constructed in 2012 by the Turkish shipyard Aganlar Boatyard design Ron Holland (Ron Holland).

“Power of Siberia” went from Turkey through the Mediterranean sea in the North Atlantic. The yacht was expected to reach St. Petersburg in November. In Palma de Mallorca as the ship got up to fix a hydraulics — change broken hose. The team finished the repairs to the hydraulics on 8 October.
