Monotype with retractable Foyle from Nautor’s Swan will be first shown in Russia on award PROyachting

Russia’s first presentation of the sport of speed sailing yachts ClubSwan 36 from the Finnish company Nautor’s Swan will be held on 20 November in Moscow at the time of awarding the prize “PROyachting. Man of the year”. World premiere of the boat was held within the framework of the Rolex Giraglia.

Project Manager — Philip Olen (Philippe Oulhen), which has collaborated with Nautor’s Swan, for example, when designing sisters ClubSwan 36 — ClubSwan 50. The naval architecture was developed by the Franco-Argentine Juan Kuyumjyan (Juan Kouyoumdjian), who created a yacht for the Volvo Ocean Race teams, and for Nautor’s Swan ClubSwan ClubSwan 50 and 125. In the work on ClubSwan 36 Koumjian also helped Kvesada Rodrigo (Rodrigo Quesada), also worked with Volvo Ocean Race and the America’s Cup, and Jonathan Florer (Jonathan Fluhrer), participated in the creation of IMOCA 60 for the British yachtsman Alex Thomson (Alex Thomson) before the circumnavigation of the Vendee Globe 2016-2017.

The main highlight of Swan36 will be a special patented foil system, which the representatives of the company promise to tell you more during the presentation.

It is known that thanks to them, this of 10.5-metre boat with a displacement of 2.5 tons and a total area of sails almost 200 square metres, will be able to go to leeward courses with a roll of 22 degrees, and on the windward — 12-15 degrees. Swan sailing arms 36 will be the grotto (56 sq m), AP staysail (34 sq m) and Spinnaker (103 sq m). Telescopic bowsprit for the Spinnaker to run for 0.5 m therefrom, the length of the yacht grows up to 11 meters.

On deck can sleep six people. Such a crew (three people on the sails, helmsman, tactician and assistant in the cockpit) is enough to control the ship. It is expected that the yacht will be able to walk, even new teams.

After the presentation of the yacht, guests can sign up to participate in its test drives, which will start this winter.

The first competition in the new class already scheduled in the calendar Nautor’s Swan in 2019.
