Circular Quay Cruise ship Terminal

Sydney Harbour is Australia's premier cruise ship destination and the only port in Australia with two dedicated cruise passenger terminals.

With its iconic Harbour Bridge and Opera House, Sydney is Australia's cruise gateway and one of the world's most beautiful ports of call.

Indeed cruise demand is booming with the number of cruise ship visits to Sydney close to tripling over the past five years, from just 119 in 2009/10 to the more than 280 currently scheduled for 2014/15. The cruise season peaks each year through summer with 114 ship visits scheduled over the three months from January to March 2015.

Port Authority of New South Wales is investing strongly in our cruise facilities to ensure we remain equal to or ahead of world standards.

In April 2013 we opened our new $57 million cruise facility at White Bay, while at Circular Quay we're about to complete a significant upgrade to the Overseas Passenger Terminal (OPT) to ensure its facilities and infrastructure can comfortably accommodate the increasing number of larger cruise ships now visiting the Harbour City.

Both the OPT and White Bay cruise terminals are just a short distance from Sydney's 'downtown' tourist attractions and shopping centres and within 30 minutes of the city's domestic and international airport terminals.

Click on the links below for directions to the terminals as well as a detailed summary of the facilities available at each of them.

Coach transfers for Carnival Australia passengers to and from White Bay Cruise Terminal

P&O Cruises offers coach transfers between the White Bay Cruise Terminal and both Sydney Airport and Central Railway Station. Detals are available from the cruise line.

Cruise Schedule

The cruise schedule is a forecast that enables users to view the proposed 18 month passenger vessel schedule. This information encompasses the projected arrivals and departures of passenger vessels through Sydney's two dedicated passenger terminals, the Overseas Passenger Terminal (OPT) - Circular Quay and White Bay Cruise Terminal, west of the Harbour Bridge at Balmain. The Cruise Schedule also includes other Sydney locations when appropriate.

What is the biggest cruise ship terminal in the world.

PortMiami, or the Port of Miami, is the biggest port for cruise and other passenger ships. It has held that title for two decades. It can also handle cargo ships.
