What is biggest cruise ship?
It hasn't been named the world's largest cruise ship just yet, but Royal Caribbean International's Harmony of the Seas is set to break the record come its first journey in May 2016. The vessel underwent its first float and was moved from a dry dock to an outfitting dock for its final round of construction on June 18th. This is the line's third Oasis-class ship—a series of boat designs featuring various "neighborhoods" full of over-the-top amenities like a Bionic Bar with robotic bartenders and Broadway productions. Most notably, the design will feature three waterslides that shoot passengers through three levels of the ship.Courtesy of Royal Caribbean
Eventually, the cruise ship will measure in at 227, 000 tons, surpassing the brand's sister ships (Oasis and Allure of the Seas) which weigh 225, 282 tons. The design will accommodate 5, 479 passengers at double occupancy. The new cruise liner will feature a Central Park "neighborhood" featuring thousands of trees with a boardwalk and a carousel.
Harmony of the Seas will spend its maiden season cruising the Mediterranean with seven-night trips from Barcelona. Travelers will also be able to catch the ship out of Civitavecchia, Italy heading to Rome. For more information, head over to the Royal Caribbean website.
